Viridescent means tending to become green, and that is the focus of the Asian Turfgrass Center, both in the literal sense of making grass green in color, and also in the sense of ensuring that sustainable turfgrass management practices are employed in the maintenance of turfgrass. We hope that this blog will provide information to help you make your facility (whether that be a golf course, sports field, lawn, or other turfgrass area) more viridescent.
The Asian Turfgrass Center is the leading source of independent turfgrass information for East and Southeast Asia. The company was founded by turfgrass scientist Dr. Micah Woods. He has 18 years of varied experience in the turfgrass industry; he has been a golf course superintendent, a turfgrass consultant, and a writer. Woods is an award-winning speaker and is a frequent presenter at turfgrass conferences throughout Asia.
In addition to his work with the Asian Turfgrass Center, Woods is an adjunct professor in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Tennessee and he writes a monthly column about turfgrass management for Japan's Golf Course Seminar magazine.
